Teamstudio Announces the 2010 Spotlight Awards Winners!

Beverly, MA - January 28, 2010

On January 19, 2010, Teamstudio announced the winners of this year's Teamstudio Spotlight Awards Contest.

The contest, in its third year, was created to raise awareness of how creative, relevant and effective Lotus Notes applications can be.

Entrants were asked to submit a brief summary of their applications, which were then rated on 5 criteria: (1) complexity of task performed, (2) degree of automation, (3) size of user community, (4) business value, and (5) creativity and innovation of design. The judging panel, comprised of industry experts Bruce Elgort, Joe Litton, Julian Robichaux and Craig Schumann then selected 3 finalists to demonstrate their applications to determine the winners.

The winning entry, Response Tracker, was developed and submitted by an internal project team at Reliance Energy in India. The team, headed up by Atin Palekar, created an application that tracks for the energy company’s 25 million customers. This application impressed the judges with its rich feature set, extremely robust development methodology employed, and blatantly-impressive benefits. Response Tracker was the unanimous choice as this year's winner.

Second place went to the Notes Reconn application, created by David Jeyachandran, Johnny Jiang and James Harris, with their internal development team at Suncorp of Australia. Available free on, Notes Reconn allows easy creation of exports and charts from Notes databases. One judge called it “the most powerful export tool I’ve ever seen.”

Erick Mack and Ian Armstrong of eProductivity in the US were the third place winners for their eProductivity application, a Notes-based tool aligned with David Allen's book "Getting Things Done" (GTD) that helps the user to incorporate GTD processes into daily routine.

An honorable mention went to Martijn de Jong for his Mailfile Information Collectorapplication, which collects mailfile information from all mail servers, their related log files, and the Domino directory. It then assembles this information into a single document per user.

The second honorable mention was for the eReport Application created by Michael Butcher. This is a mobile Lotus Notes Application used to quickly and accurately track customer service calls.

Teamstudio is excited to recognize all contest winners, honorable mentions, and entrants for their outstanding applications developed using Lotus Notes. Information on the 2011 Teamstudio Spotlight Awards will be available on the Teamstudio website in October of 2010.
